Reclaiming Ancient Wisdom. Restoring Collective Wellbeing.
Black Indigenous Medicine Apprenticeship (BIMA) preserves Black Indigenous wisdom and leadership through arts, culture, education, healing, and community practice.
We create the conditions for ancestral knowledge to be preserved, practiced, shared, and carried forward—so communities can build toward wealth, wellness, and sovereignty across generations.
WHO WE ARE
We Remember. We Practice. We Build. We Steward.
BIMA is a nonprofit organization working at the intersection of ancestral knowledge, cultural preservation, leadership, and regenerative systems.
We believe ancestral knowledge is not simply something to remember. It is knowledge that can continue to inform how communities heal, lead, create, organize, and build for the future.
Through education, apprenticeships, arts and culture, community practice, and strategic partnerships, BIMA helps create pathways for that knowledge to remain living, accessible, and relevant across generations.

OUR MISSION
Preserving Black Indigenous Wisdom and Leadership Through Arts and Culture.
Our mission is to preserve Black Indigenous wisdom and leadership through arts and culture.
We fulfill this mission by stewarding nonprofit projects that protect cultural knowledge, strengthen community leadership, and cultivate regenerative systems designed to endure across generations.
Through education, arts and culture, governance, and long-term institutional support, BIMA creates conditions for Black Indigenous wisdom to be preserved, practiced, and passed forward.
